Specimen Requirements

Container: Screw-capped, sterile vial

Specimen Volume: 0.5 mL of spinal fluid

Collection Instructions: Maintain sterility and forward promptly.

Note: 1. Label each tube with the patient’s full name, date and time of collection, initials of person collecting spinal fluid, and the order in which the tubes were collected.

2. Unless otherwise specified, this test will be performed on tube 1 of collection.
